What is a Lace Front Wig?

A lace front wig refers to a wig that incorporates a very fine, sheer piece of lace mesh that is located at the front of the wig cap. The almost invisible lace section runs across the entire front of the wig cap from temple to temple. Hairs are individually hand tied onto the lace in a non uniform manner and most lace fronts come in a pre cut condition so not styling or trimming is generally required. They are made to look like a natural hairline and create an overall natural appearance for the piece. The desired effect of the lace front is that the a casual observer cannot tell the difference between a natural hairline and an artificial one. On well made, quality lace fronts the difference is very hard to detect. Lace fronts on human hair wigs are almost universal for products made by the large manufacturers and synthetic lace front wigs are generally standard on most medium to higher priced styles.  This wig cap feature is also most commonly incorporated in conjunction with a monofilament top or part to create a lace front monofilament wig for enhanced styling and versatility.

Why is a Lace Front better?

The non natural hairline is a strong indicator that a person is wearing a wig. Lace Fronts solve this problem. They blend the hairline discretely with the forehead and are best when they are not cut in a uniform manner.
